fter the chaotic introduction to Crystal Springs the new arrivals to the town's dwindling kindred community experienced upon their first night they became aware of the tempestuous nature of this unassuming little mountain community. This urged them to excersise an added measure of caution going forward just as the current kindred residents learned to before them. Those that yet survive that is.

heir introduction at court, while tense is otherwise uneventful. To the salubri Caspian who markets himself as a ventrue things seem more precarious than perhaps he had been expecting as the prince does not excersise nor does he seem to hold much regard for the etiquette and traditions common among the blue bloods that Caspian has learned to emulate. Nor does he seem very receptive to the usual methods of flattery and enthusiastic service to the court the salubri so often uses to curry favor for himself from court officials.

Hough this does not make it impossible for him to establish himself Caspian knows it will be trickier than simply going through the motions. At the very least it seems there are other blue bloods in town as well, more or less about as adherent to old fashioned traditionalism as the prince is they nonetheless do not seem to question Caspian claim to being their clanmate. The senechaal with the mein of a teenage goth girl however gives Caspian a look that suggests she knows something more than she let's on but it's unclear what that could be and she doesn't raise a fuss so sleeping dogs are left to lie for now.

he koldun viktor on the other hand finds his reception to court warmer than perhaps he may have been expecting. The prince seems rather fond of blood mages of any stripe and while he issues the condition for his hospitality be a blood oath to his primogen he assures Viktor that it is inservice of court solidarity. "If we are to survive we must stick together" and all in all this is perhaps not entirely objectionable. The doctor is rather easygoing and not unpleasant to be around. Better him than one who would abuse the blood bond.

he news of child hunters destroying Severin puts a damper on things however. If there are hunters killing off kindred before they even have a chance to present themselves it will make it hard to bring in reinforcements. In response to this the Prince issues two changes to the courts current method of operation. 1. That the prince himself will host informal sittings every night between the hours of 8 and 12 for the purpose of expidited assessment of new arrivals and 2. That all kindred are to travel in groups of three at all times until further notice for safety. He than proceeds to pair off kindred as he sees fit in various trios one of which is comprised of the two new arrivals and the ventrue Nora. Lastly the prince issues a reward for any information on the local hunters but orders all kindred to not engage them unless in self defense as the last thing anyone needs right now is a war and there is currently no way of telling just how many hunters there are or how well organized they may be.

ith that court is adjourned and Caspian, Nora and Viktor depart together to tend to their business on turn. It takes some time but a few arguments and heated debates layer they are able to collectively compromise on how to spend their time since they must do everything together to obey the prince's order.

12 Days Later

aspian, Nora and Viktor have all been able to get on fairly well enough. The three have gotten to know each other fairly well during their nightly outings and while being shackled to other vampires has it's issues none can argue the added security is a comfort.

iktor and Caspian, out of sheer convenience decide to take up residence in the apartment building that Nora stays at so the three can stick close by. Even if they may bend the prince's order to stick together from time to time the optics of a communal haven of sorts is to their benifit.

aspian finds it difficult to establish the kind of business in this backwater town that perhaps he would like but a week and a few ghouls see him set up a somewhat respectable bar and grill in evergreen square. Perhaps not the hedonistic lap of luxury he likes to preside over but there seems to be little demand in town for that sort of thing. However mortals need to eat and mortals need to get drunk, that fact alone makes this place profitably secure.

iktor is able to make use of this time to learn a few facts about the town while Caspian is focused on business matters and Nora on her cases. The place is rife with urban legends and dark rumors. A monster that lives in the old anandoned steel mill outside of town whi rips anyone who trespasses there apart woth a jagged piece of scrap metal. A child eating serial killer who lives in the woods and prays on campers and young teens who stray too far into his territory. A demon who haunts dreams and devours souls. And countless stories of government human experimentation and mind control. This seems to be just the tip of the iceberg for what the koldun nay glean through the residents of Crystal Springs and while he remains skeptical it is hard for him to be to incredulous of these tales after what he's seen.

ora, is able to make some headway on her current investigations though currently none of them are very interesting. Cheating husbands, insurance fraud, the usual mundanity. It doesn't  help matters that both of her new companions seem to be hiding something and her instincts tell her it's something big.
